Welcome to The Julie Duggan Memorial Golf Tournament homepage.
The Julie Duggan Memorial Golf Tournament was started in 2002 by Julie Duggan's family as a way to pay to tribute to Julie, her life, and how the courage she showed inspired everyone who knew her. Julie passed away in June 2002 from cystic fibrosis (CF) at the age of 13. In keeping with Julie's wish for a cure to CF be found, proceeds of approximately $55,000 to date from the tournament have gone to the Cytsic Fibrosis Foundation http://www.cff.org/. The 2009 tournament, as in years past, was held at Wentworth Hills Golf Club http://www.wentworthhillsgolf.com/ on Friday, June 5th.
In the 13 years she was with us, Julie demonstrated why she was so special. Despite having cystic fibrosis (CF), Julie loved to dance, sing and perform gymnastics. Against this nasty disease, she stood strong. Her concern for her academics showed when she was awarded "Most Conscientious Student", despite not being able to attend school much in 2002. Julie fought cystic fibrosis her whole life and she was a powerful example to her family and friends. Those who knew Julie admired her spirit, her spunk and her determination for life.
Deeply loved and truly missed.
