Thank you for supporting the Julie Duggan Memorial Golf Tournament, which was held on Thursday June 9, 2011 at Brookmeadow Country Club in Canton. Thanks to your generous donations, the Golf Tournament was able to raise over $5000 for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

After much thought we have decided to discontinue the Julie Duggan Memorial Golf Tournament.
With your participation over the past 10 years we have raised over $80,000 for Cystic Fibrosis. This money has helped fund the development of many new drugs that will dramatically increase the life expectancy of people with Cystic Fibrosis. Recently the Food and Drug Administration’s approved Kalydeco™. Kalydeco addresses the underlying cause of CF, and the science behind the drug has opened exciting new doors to research and development that may eventually lead to additional therapies that will benefit more people living with CF. You should be very proud of your contribution to this success.

In addition the money raised also established a scholarship in Julie’s name thru the Citizen’s Scholarship Foundation of Mansfield. Each year a scholarship is given out in Julie’s name. You bought a TV for a place of respite at New England Medical Center’s Floating Hospital for weary parents. You funded a mortgage payment for a dying cancer patient. Donations were also made to March of Dimes, Make A Wish and First Candle/International Stillbirth Alliance (ISA).

The Golf Tournament was established to keep Julie’s memory alive and to help make her wish come true for other children. Your participation over the 10 years has funded the research that will find better treatments for the disease and one-day find the cure that Julie prayed for.

Thank you for enabling us to keep Julie’s memory alive.
Your generosity will never be forgotten.
